Spam, Spam, Spam
Some sad company seems to think that posting adverts in my comments section is a great way to promote their business. Their business, however, involves selling a certain form of medication that is normally the kind you find delivered to the spam section of your email inbox. I am also quite amazed that they would target my site, as it is not the most popular blog on the Internet, so not a vast number of people would see the ads. To be accurate, perhaps around 0, as you have to click a button to see the comments anyway.
Luckily, I have various measures in place to stop their comments ever actually appearing on this site.
Due to this spam, I felt a Monty Python fact list would suit?
- In 1982 a Royal Navy destroyer was struck, and as the crew awaited rescue, they started singing Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life from the end of The Life Of Brian.
- All of The Beatles were fans of Monty Python.
- A fossil of a previously unseen snake, found in 1985 was called the Montypythonoides riversleighensis.
- The title of Monty Python’s Flying Circus came from various influences. Circus was used as the six men wandering round resembled a circus troupe. Flying was added to make it less like a real circus, and more like something from WWI. Monty Python was a fictional name of an agent who could have brought them together.
- The Python programming language was named after the group, and many example codes contain quotes and weird references.
- The foot from the title sequence of Flying Circus used to be a logo on SlashDot.
- The Pythons have their own beer, called Monty Python’s Holy Ail.
