UK Googlers
During May, these were the most popular search terms put into Google by people from the UK:
- big brother
- bbc news
- amazon
- autotrader
- bbc sport
- wikipedia
- easyjet
- bitesize
- dictionary
- lost
- cbeebies
- currency converter
- national lottery
- eastenders
- arsenal
When you look at these results, they are quite shocking. 6 of those results are found on the BBC website, and a further 2 on the Channel 4 site. Almost half of the searches are for TV! This means we are officially a TV obsessed nation, and more so than the Americans! Another 6 of the sites wanted can be reached simply by sticking .com or .co.uk on the end of the search term. The only one you can’t get is the currency converter. So, so far I have proved that the UK population is stupid and TV obsessed. Hmm, I thought I was going to find out something I didn’t know. Google has billions of web pages to get information from, yet it just has to state the obvious. Oh, thats another thing the British are good at.
And just in case you’re wondering, and obviously don’t know me, then I’m from the UK.
