A New Way To Surf
As I type this, I just whacked “Never dig a wine cellar in a boat” into a search engine, just to see if anyone out there:
- Lives in Cornwall
- Has visited a small independent shop somewhere down there
- Bought a bookmark/keyring/coaster
- Bothered to type it on to the Internet
- And got indexed by a search engine
Amazing, the number of people who bothered is about 4 out of around 3 billion pages. So, thats 1.3×10-9% of pages in the world contain that phrase. That’s not a lot, by anyone’s standards. And I have found that by searching for phrases on various objects on my desk I can find lots of weird, often quite small, sites that I would find any other way, but are actually quite interesting.
Go on, try it! You never know what you might find!
