How I Damage The Economy

On average, I spend around 20 minutes to an hour making a blog post (This varies wildly, but is a fair estimate). This gives an average of 40 minutes per post. My blog has 108 posts so far, so that gives a total time (roughly) of 4,320 minutes. Thats 72 hours, or exactly 3 days devoted to this blog (excluding this post). During 2006 (the last year for which figures are available), a total of 82 posts were made. Look, here’s a graph:

Graph Of 2006 Posts

That’s a total of 3,280 minutes, or 54 hours and 40 minutes, taken up in 2006 making blog posts. This is at a cost to the economy (assuming I get paid minimum wage) of £180.40 (not including inflation and changes to the minimum wage). However, when I reach 18, this will leap to £243.27 per year.

If I was paid for this, I could buy:

  • 668 sticks of French bread
  • A 30GB video iPod (although the Zen Vision M is a lot better)
  • 3 swivelly office chairs

If you have any other suggestions, or would like to pay me (wink, wink…) then feel free to mention them.

This might well be the first instance where a suggestion of mine has been taken up at all!
I’ll have to refer to this in my C.V or something…
