Corby Trouser Press
Two questions just popped into my head:
- Do Corby make anything other than trouser presses?
- Does anyone other than Corby make them?
The Corby trouser press, along with tea and coffee making facilities, is a basic feature expected of all British hotel rooms. It seems that Corby have really captured the market and are running some sort of monopoly in wall-mounted hotel-based crease-removing devices. The only other name I can see is Morphy Richards, but who’d be happy with one of their trouser presses?
In my travels around the web, I also found a magazine called Trouser Press. Unfortunately, rather than being one of those irrelevant niche publications that pops up on Have I Got News For You, its actually “the bible of alternative rock since 1983″.
To answer my first question, Corby don’t seem to make anything other than trouser presses. Personally I would have thought it would have been difficult to keep the business going, but it appears that demand is high enough.
Oh, and one last question: does anyone actually use the trouser presses in hotel rooms?
