Projects
I now have two projects that I hope to update you lot on at some point in the near future.
Linux HTPC
The UK will be fully switched over to digital TV in 2012, and I need to be ready. My portable 15″ telly at the moment just doesn’t cut it. My goal is to build a multimedia PC, running Linux, with a dual Freeview tuner built in. A 19″ widescreen monitor should be good enough for watching TV and DVDs (I’m not overly bothered about HD), and a 400GB hard disc should be enough to hold music and recordings. I’ll update you as that progresses.
Bike Light
This is my other, far cheaper, project 
I need a new set of lights, and rather than do the boring thing and plodding off down to Halfords and picking a set up, I thought I’d put my soldering iron to good use and look into making a set of lights. A 555 timer, some LEDs, a variety of switches, some resistors, a capacitor and a project box and I should be good to go. Again, I’ll provide some more information as and when I’ve worked out what I’m doing
